Mogadishu, (SONNA) — The Commander of the Somali National Army (SNA), Major General Ibrahim Mohamed Mahmoud, on Sunday chaired the SNA General Command’s morning meeting, focusing on accelerating ongoing military operations, advancing force development and reform, and preparations for assuming full national security responsibilities from the African Union Support and Stabilization Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM).
The meeting reviewed the overall security situation across the country, readiness for upcoming Independence Day celebrations, efforts to intensify ongoing operations against security threats, and measures to enhance the operational preparedness of the Somali National Army.
Senior military officers presented updates on ongoing activities and plans aimed at strengthening the SNA’s capabilities and effectiveness. Discussions also underscored the importance of coordination, cooperation, and unified efforts to ensure security in the capital, Mogadishu.
Concluding the meeting, Maj. Gen. Ibrahim urged military commanders and officers to further strengthen efforts aimed at advancing the Somali National Army’s priority objectives and maintaining momentum in ongoing security operations.
