Somalia Launches Professional Training Program for Prison Custodial Corps

Mogadishu, (SONNA) — The Minister of Justice of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Hassan Moallim Mohamud, accompanied by the Commander of the Somali Custodial Corps, Mohamed Sheikh Hassan Hamud, officially inaugurated a professional training program for officers and personnel of the Somali Custodial Corps.
The training program, described as the first professional development course for the force, will provide participants with skills in leadership, military laws and regulations, administration, and the management and welfare of inmates.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Commander Mohamed Sheikh Hassan Hamud said the training is essential for strengthening the professional capacity of officers and personnel, noting that similar programs will be conducted regularly.
Minister Hassan Moallim Mohamud encouraged participants to make full use of the opportunity and stressed the importance of enhancing the professionalism and effectiveness of the Somali Custodial Corps through continuous training and capacity-building initiatives.
