Interior Minister Receives Update on Progress of Civil Registration and Vital Statistics System

Mogadishu, (SONNA) — The Minister of Interior, Federal Affairs and Reconciliation of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E Ali Yusuf Ali Hosh, received a briefing from the Directorate General of Civil Registration and Vital Statistics on the progress of ongoing efforts to strengthen civil registration services and enhance the implementation of Somalia’s Civil Registration and Vital Statistics system. The briefing highlighted key achievements, ongoing activities, and efforts aimed at improving coordination and expanding access to civil registration services across the country. The Minister commended the Directorate’s commitment and progress in advancing civil registration and vital statistics services, strengthening institutional coordination, and supporting the effective implementation of the Civil Registration and Vital Statistics Law as part of broader state building and governance reforms.
